Home improvement: You either love it or you don't. But there are things that can make moving and gardening more pleasant. In Lowe's 'Neighborhood' commercial, an idyllic, "Who wouldn't want to live here?" town is featured. Something tells us it never rains in this glorious outpost, as a new family moves in and settles comfortably on Perfect Street.

Gardening? Check. Painting picket fences? Check? Trimming hedges? Check. A sense of connection and community? Check. It's all set to a catchy, upbeat song that had us half-expecting the featured families to engage in a line dance that wraps around the tree-lined block. What is this life-affirming song?

It's called 'Best Day of My Life' by American Authors, who now hail from Brooklyn.

The band members met while attending Boston's Berklee College of Music in 2006. They performed as the Blue Pages and then relocated to the 718 in 2010, ultimately changing their name to American Authors in 2012.

The song is the band's second single, and it's a bouncy indie rock song with some pop sensibilities, namely the hook in the title chorus.

American Authors have since been signed to Mercury Records. Maybe now they'll have homes of their own to improve.
