The Tom Cruise sci-fi vehicle 'Oblivion' doesn't hit the big screen until April 19, but M83's stellar soundtrack to the film is available for purchase today (April 9) on iTunes and streaming in full below below. A couple of the selections -- 'Starwaves' and the title cut -- had already surfaced, and now, with the remainder of the 17-track disc available, the full scope of this impressive collection of compositions becomes clear.

From the eerie, glacial pace of 'Waking Up' and the reflective bombast of 'Earth 2077' to the tense build of 'Losing Control' and the tribal release of 'Canyon Battle,' the 'Oblivion' soundtrack evokes many moods and deep emotions. You can almost picture the type of scene that accompanies each cut.

M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez worked on the soundtrack with composer Joseph Trapanese, who also contributed the score for ‘TRON: Uprising.' Gonzalez also recruited Norwegian songstress Susanne Sundfør for guest vocals on some tracks. While the standard version of the soundtrack is out today, a deluxe edition that will reportedly feature 30 tracks is expected at a later date.
