Portland, Ore.-based alt-electro-pop rockers Mackintosh Braun are gearing up for the release of their third full-length record, Arcadia, and today (May 14), Diffuser is thrilled to share a free download of one of our favorite tracks, "We Ran Faster Then" -- pick it up in the audio player below.

The duo is comprised of Ian Mackintosh and Ben Braun, two guys who instantly started making music the day they met. "We couldn't stop," Mackintosh recalls, with Braun adding, "We were so on the same page it was kind of stupid."

That mutual understanding is crystal clear throughout "We Ran Faster Then," a delicately beautiful tune that somehow balances a dynamic pace with a mellow vibe.

"'We Ran Faster Then' is a song we wrote about getting older but also trying to hold on to your youth," the two musicians explain. "It's a constant battle that feels both scary and empowering. We hope it brings you some nostalgia as it does for us."
