Emerging pop princess Mayda gives a nod to Madonna in her latest single, 'Panthers.' The buzzed-about singer's performance on the song is very strong, showing that under her flashy makeup and larger-than-life, Santigold-inspired live show is a bed of true vocal ability and talent.

Mayda's musical vision came together after she relocated to the Midwest from South Korea, and fate connected her with music-industry veteran and producer Michael Bland (Soul Asylum, Prince, Nick Jonas). With Bland as her mentor, Mayda formed her own independent record label to unleash the critically acclaimed full-length 'Tusk in Furs.' Songs from the album were heard across the cable networks on such TV shows as 'The Jersey Shore,' 'The Real Word,' 'Punk'd,' 'Made' and 'Bad Girls Club,' and that's only the beginning for Mayda.

On 'Panthers,' Mayda evokes wild-animal chaos, shouting over a Moog lead and electric guitar straight out of the '80s. Discussing the lyrics, she tells Diffuser.fm, "If the panthers pray, there goes the world. There goes control, but it will be beautiful." Grab 'Panthers' below.
