Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready to Perform With Seattle Symphony
Fans of the Seattle Symphony will be getting a little grunge with their Gershwin.
Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has signed on to perform with the orchestra in January as part of the symphony's Sonic Evolution series, according to Guerilla Candy. Curated by music director Ludovic 'Ludo" Morlot, the concerts are meant to celebrate Seattle's musical legacy by bringing in notable local rock, pop and hip-hop musicians.
Of course, this isn't McCready's first orchestral maneuver: He also played alongside the Seattle Symphony in 2012 during a performance with singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. This also isn't the first time a big name will be part of Sonic Evolution: Seattle native Sir Mix-A-Lot also recently brought a bunch of female patrons onstage for an uncomfortable rendition of his timeless classic 'Baby Got Back.'
