Apparently not content with just fronting three different lineups of the Melvins, singer and guitarist Buzz Osbourne is about to embark on his first-ever solo acoustic tour.

“I’m looking forward to taking this show on the road," said the always quotable Osbourne in a press release. “Solo acoustic is something I’d never thought I’d be doing. Maybe that’s why this will work!”

It will indeed be quite a stylistic shift for Osbourne, who, for more than 30 years, has been delivering a heavy and often experimental mix of metal, punk and rock as the primary songwriter for the Melvins. Since 2006, the group has primarily functioned in a four-piece, two-drummer lineup. But in 2012, Osbourne and longtime drummer Dale Crover were joined by Trevor Dunn on stand-up bass for the 'Freak Puke' album, which was credited to 'Melvins Lite.'

If that wasn't enough, Crover switched over to bass to make room for the band's short-term original drummer, Mike DIllard, for last year's 'Tres Cabrones' album. Osbourne will release a 10-inch vinyl record titled 'This Machine Kills Artists' in conjunction with his solo tour.
