With their new record II officially out today (May 4) worldwide, Toronto punk band Metz have unleashed a brand new music video for "The Swimmer" -- you can watch it above. The incredibly tweaked out video, which was directed by Scott Cudmore and Michael Leblanc, depicts a middle-aged man having an otherworldly mental breakdown.

The video pairs perfectly with the trio's frantic punk single, which possesses a dark, driving edge. It's a tone that runs throughout the length of the new record. “We try to maintain right on the verge of disaster, just tipping over. Right on the precipice,” singer Alex Edkins stated in an interview with The Guardian. “If you can smother a melody in noise and grit, to me, that’s perfect.”

The band recently extended its North American tour, which will kick off in Austin this Friday (May 8). You can check out all of their current tour dates here. II, out via Sub Pop Records, is currently available on CD, digital and vinyl formats (including a limited "Loser Edition" of the LP on colored wax).
