Celebrated "lowbrow" artist Anthony Ausgang met MGMT while hanging out in a mansion they were recording in in Malibu, Calif., and proceeded to leave sketches around the pad whenever he left. Eventually he was contacted by the band's label and hired to paint the cover. "A lot of people who commission a painting only know what they don't want; fortunately MGMT knew what they wanted and let me do it my way," raved Anthony to boingboing.
