MGMT have been talking about an album called Little Dark Age for quite a while – and now, they've released the title track. You can check out the video above.

Little Dark Age was initially set to be issued in 2016, after MGMT sent out a tweet on Christmas Day 2015 saying to expect something the following year. That was followed nine months later with news that the album had been pushed back to 2017. As recently as May, the band said that they were still sticking to that deadline. MGMT even premiered five new songs – believed to be titled “Little Dark Age,” “James,” “Goodbye Horses,” “Me and Michael” and “When You Die" – during a set at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis.

Then, last Thursday, MGMT offered a preview of "Little Dark Age" via a 10-second clip released to social media. The day after the snippet appeared, they tweeted out the song's lyrics.

Now, the band's first full-length album since 2013's MGMT is expected to come out at some point early next year, according to a press release via Pitchfork. MGMT add that it was produced by the band along with Patrick Wimberly and Dave Fridmann, who co-produced two other MGMT records – 2007's Oracular Spectacular and MGMT – and is perhaps best known for his long-running association with the Flaming Lips.

MGMT only have one date left on their calendar for 2017. They'll appear at Miami's House of Creatives Music Festival on Nov. 11. You can get tickets at their website.
