Michelob Ultra ‘Today Was a Good Day’ 2012 Commercial – What’s the Song?
The music of Young the Giant is the perfect fit for Michelob Ultra’s new commercial, which shows four active adults enjoying the company’s new light beer.
The 31-second clip quickly highlights the four different activities the adults take part in. For each activity, Michelob Ultra’s new 95 calorie beer gets passed around, while the band’s hit single ‘My Body’ plays in the background. Like many other beer commercials of the past, the message of this advertisement is that a nice cold beer is perfect for any occasion.
Young the Giant are from Irvine, Calif. and consist of Sameer Gadhia, Jacob Tilley, Eric Cannata, Payam Doostzadeh and Francois Comtois. The commercial plays the chorus of ‘My Body,’ the first single off the band’s 2010 self-titled debut. In 2011, the song did exceptionally well on the charts, reaching No. 5 on Billboard’s U.S Alternative Songs chart and No. 65 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Young the Giant are scheduled to perform at a number of festivals for the start of the fall, including Calgary XFEST in Canada on Sept. 1 and the Soundland Festival with My Morning Jacket in Nashville, Tenn. on October 6. You can check out their complete itinerary here.
