Morrissey fans in Iceland will be sorely disappointed upon hearing the news that the ex-Smiths frontman has canceled a show he had scheduled for the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. While a canceled gig is pretty commonplace for Morrissey, lately it’s been a result of the singer’s health issues and missed flights. This time, however, it’s because the venue refused to go vegetarian for the evening.

Of course, this has been the case for some time. Morrissey has long since required that the venues where he performs not serve meat during his shows. Since the Harpa Concert Hall didn’t comply, Morrissey canceled the concert and released a statement citing the reason in no uncertain terms.

“I love Iceland and I have waited a long time to return, but I shall leave the Harpa Concert Hall and their cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust,” he wrote.

Morrissey will, however, make stops in the Netherlands, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in March. Find a full list of dates here.
