Morrissey Opens Up About Recent Cancer Scares

Some scary news for fans of the Smiths: According to an interview with 'El Mundo,' a Spanish newspaper, Morrissey has had four cancer scares on top of his other recent health issues.

If you recall, both of Morrissey's most recent North American tours had to be canceled as a result of the singer's bouts with Barrett’s esophagus, a bleeding ulcer and double pneumonia.

According to the interview, doctors have been warning him to stop touring, but the singer-songwriter is still fighting on, currently touring in Europe. “They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already,” says Morrissey, but adds, “If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”
