Having been released earlier this year, England Is Mine, a dramatic retelling of Morrissey's days growing up in Manchester, England, is scheduled to arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on Dec. 12.

You can pre-order it at MVD's website, where the film's synopsis reds as follows: "Steven, better known to most as Morrissey, frontman of iconic band the Smiths, is a restless young man struggling to escape his working class roots. He dreams of being in a band, writing music and flying clear of the daily grind. Suddenly a chance encounter with guitarist Billy leads to a first gig. Can Steven find his own path and find an England of his own?"

Starring Olivier Award-winning actor Jack Lowden as the singer, with Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) as his best friend, Linder Sterling, England Is Mine was directed by Mark Gill from a script he co-wrote with William Thacker. The film, as the producers said in 2016, “looks inside the young mind of Steven Patrick Morrissey and captures a glimpse of what he observed and channeled in order to give us the future music of his thoughts, not only with the Smiths but his solo work as well.”

"I can't deny that this is a love letter to Steven Patrick Morrissey," Gill added, "and the dark satanic mills of Manchester."

The film's subject, however, is preferring to not look back. Morrissey will release his 11th solo album, Low in High School, tomorrow. It's his first record since 2014's World Peace Is None of Your Business. He's currently touring the U.S., and will remain on the road through his Dec. 7 show in Boston.
