After being revealed as a headliner at this fall’s Riot Fest Chicago and then quickly saying not so bloody fastMorrissey has announced he’ll officially perform at the festival in September.

As per usual, the former Smiths frontman and noted curmudgeon used the official fan site True to You to share the news. The statement is pretty concise: “Morrissey is confirmed to headline the Chicago Riot Fest on Saturday, September 17.”

Riot Fest takes place Sept. 2 through 4 in Denver and Sept. 16 through 18 in Chicago. Earlier this month, the festival unveiled the lineups for both events, which featured Morrissey at Riot Fest Chicago with the likes of Social Distortion (performing White Light, White Heat, White Trash), Bob Mould, Brand New, Refused, Death Grips, the Specials, the Hives and the reunion of the Misfits.
