You can't keep a good man down! After canceling several dates and then the whole of his North American tour this winter -- the result of some major health issues that included Barrett's esophagus and double pneumonia -- Morrissey has scheduled June concerts in seven cities in Mexico. He'll apparently close things out with a gig at the National Auditorium in Mexico City and then hit other countries in Latin America.

Moz will certainly make the most of his time in Mexico, appearing on two national TV shows while in the region. After the Mexican trek, he heads to Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile. Details on those dates are forthcoming.

After a trying winter where his health was constantly in question and the possibility of retiring from live performing loomed large, at least the suggestion of his medical team, the singer is hitting the ground running this summer. His health must be improving, so this is all positive stuff, even if North American fans might be a little miffed that they didn't get to see him do to his chronic health woes.

In other Morrissey news, he has declined to participate in two upcoming British TV docs on the Smiths.
