In early 2014, Morrissey revealed he was partway through writing his first novel. Now, the ex-Smiths leader has shared more details surrounding that book. Titled List of the Lost, the novel is slated for arrival sometime late next month via Penguin Books UK.

An official statement to True to You reveals that a firm release date will arrive within the next week, however, there’s no word as to when the novel will be issued in the U.S. When List of the Lost does land on shelves, it follows Moz’s 2013 memoir, Autobiography. Read the complete statement below:

Morrissey's first novel, 'List of the Lost,' will be published by Penguin Books (UK) at the end of September. The book will be issued in softcover/paperback as a New Fiction title, and comes almost two years after Morrissey's very successful 'Autobiography' publication of October 2013.
Penguin Books will confirm an on sale date within this coming week. 'List of the Lost' will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.

Last week, Morrissey appeared as the guest on Larry King Now, where the singer discussed everything from his thoughts on American politics and President Obama to his alleged assault by a TSA officer.
