On the heels of their intimate club gig in New York City earlier this week, Mumford and Sons have shared the second track from their highly-anticipated new LP, Wilder MindListen to the powerfully energetic new song, "The Wolf," above.

At the New York City show, Mumford and Sons only performed songs from the new album. While that's a tough atmosphere to shine in for any band, Mumford and Sons seemed comfortable debuting new tune after new tune -- and while the audience was hungry to devour each one, there was one track that stood out among the rest ... one track that resulted in an explosive roar from the crowd. (Hint: It's the topic of this story.)

We already knew Wilder Mind would be a bit of a departure from the band's signature folk rock sound, and "The Wolf" only serves to solidify that divergence.

"The Wolf" follows "Believe," a much tamer -- though, just as enjoyable -- taste of the new disc. In addition to headlining Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, Mumford and Sons are hitting the road for their own Gentlemen of the Road Stopover festival -- you can find their full tour itinerary here. They'll also be performing on Saturday Night Live this weekend, April 11.
