As My Morning Jacket continue to gear up for the release of their new album, The Waterfall, on May 4 via ATO/Capitol, the band will host a very special vinyl listening party the day before it hits the streets.

Partnering with Record Store Day, My Morning Jacket are giving fans the first official -- and complete -- listen of The Waterfall. The event will be streamed live on YouTube from Electric Lady Studios in New York City beginning 9:30PM ET on May 3 when the band will welcome viewers. Then at 10PM, the needle will drop, and we can all get our first taste of the new record.

And in order to have the highest quality listening experience, My Morning Jacket encourage those tuning in to use their best headphones or speakers (not the ones on your laptop) to really get a feel for the album. Viewers are also recommended to use Firefox when going on YouTube Live, with an internet connection that's at least 14MPBS -- and remember to switch the video to 1080p to watch in full HD.

Following the listening portion of the event, the band will then hop on Facebook for a Q&A session where fans can chat with them.

Following the release of the new album, My Morning Jacket will also be hitting the road, starting on May 4 in Athens, Georgia. If you're lucky enough to get to see one of their shows, proceeds from your ticket and any merch you buy will go toward the band's Waterfall Project. You can find all their tour dates here.
