The list of April 2013 new music releases is overflowing with eagerly anticipated albums, which is fitting, since this markedly music-centric month also brings Record Store Day and two — count ‘em, two — weekends of red-hot Coachella action. Perusing the April 2013 offerings, we’re particularly psyched about three comeback albums: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ ‘Mosquito,’ the Stooges’ ‘Ready to Die’ and the Knife’s ‘Shaking the Habitual.’ And in the absence of a Rilo Kiley reunion, we’ll take ‘RKives,’ the L.A. indie-pop band’s forthcoming collection of B-sides and rare cuts, as a consolation prize.

The April 2013 new release calendar also boasts fresh jams from some killer Brits — electro minimalist James Blake and anthemic post-punkers British Sea Power, most notably — veteran punk and hardcore bands (Alkaline Trio, Killswitch Engage) and even Snoop Lion, rapper Snoop Dogg’s reggae alter ego.

Clearly, it’s a good month to be a music fan. Scroll down to see the full list of April 2013 new releases and start planning your purchases.
