It’s time for our list of February 2013 new music releases, and that means two things. One, the weather is about to get really cold, at least for those of us on the East Coast. Two, labels are rolling out some of the year’s hottest new albums. Perusing the schedule of upcoming releases, we can honestly say we’re ready to trudge on into February, confident that the blizzard of new music will offset any literal blizzards that befall us.

The month starts strong, as one of the February 2013 new music releases we’re most psyched about, Jim James’ ‘Regions of Light and Sound of God,’ arrives in stores on Feb. 5. The following week, Foals give us ‘Holy Fire,’ and the week after that, Feb. 19, we’ve got new albums from Iceage, Beach Fossils and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Finally, as the month draws to a close, we get the eagerly anticipated debuts from Johnny Marr and Atoms for Peace, the supergroup featuring Thom Yorke and Flea.
