Hope you enjoyed what May and June brought, because there's not a whole lot of big music releases coming in July.

In fact, there's not too many records coming out at all. Most artists save their heavy artillery for the fall, when fans have more time for music. (Those beautiful summer days get in the way of so many other things.)

That's not to say there aren't some records you definitely need to hear during the month. In addition to a brand-new Morrissey album dropping at the halfway point, erstwhile Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis will release her first solo album in six years later in the month.

Plus, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers return. So do Chicago punks Rise Against. So it's not totally empty.
