New Music Releases – November 2012
Looking over the list of November 2012 new music releases, it's clear the year is coming to a close. The early fall brought many of the year's most anticipated albums -- efforts by No Doubt, the Killers, Muse and more -- and while November's pickings are markedly slimmer, there remains plenty of good product to be thankful for.
On Nov. 6, watch for the return of terrifyingly brilliant -- and brilliantly terrifying -- Toronto synth wranglers Crystal Castles, who drop their third album, '(III).' That same week, Vancouver's Teen Daze offer some Canadian electro-pop of a different sort, inviting listeners to take a chilled-out stroll through 'The Inner Mansions.' The following week, aging hipsters will have to plunk down for two discs: Guided by Voices' 'Bears for Lunch,' their third LP of the year, and Sonic Youth's 'Smart Bar Chicago 1985,' a live album recorded in, you guessed it, Chicago back in 1985. Nov. 13 also sees the release of ‘¡Dos!’ the second installment in Green Day's trilogy of back-to-basics punk sets.
The fun continues toward the end of November, as hardcore pioneers Bad Brains vault 'Into the Future' with their first album since 2007. And Coldplay's 'Mylo Zyloto Live' is bound to move some units, even if everyone and their mother saw the blockbuster live show as it rolled through stadiums around the world. Check out the full list of November 2012 new music releases and start saving your pennies accordingly. Or just wait and throw these suckers on your holiday wish lists.
