July 2012's new songs prove that as we head into the dog days of the summer and watch the mercury rise, we'll be getting down to some great new tunes.

Britpop vets Blur have not one but two new ones out with 'The Puritan' and 'Under the Westway,' both tunes issued online in the run up to the 2012 Olympics later this month in London. The Black Keys follow up their massive hit 'Gold on the Ceiling' with a new single off their latest album. Can they keep the streak alive?

Meanwhile, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth has a new song from a new band called Chelsea Light Moving, while punk icon Iggy Pop and Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast team up for a tune featured on the vampire diaries known as HBO's 'True Blood.' Talk about hot!

Check out all these songs that are new in July 2012 and come back, as we add more tunes when they drop throughout the month.
