Largely because he didn't rise to fame until more than two decades after his death in 1974, it's difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to British folk singer-songwriter Nick Drake. That, however, is likely about to change.

For the first time, Drake's estate has authorized an official biography and companion to his music. 'Nick Drake: Remembered for a While' was compiled and edited by his sister, Gabrielle Drake, with the executor of his estate, Cally Collomon, and will be released in November via John Murray Publishers.

The book will feature never-before-seen photos, handwritten lyrics and rare personal documents along with interviews and excerpts from Drake’s family, friends and longtime collaborators, including producer Joe Boyd, songwriter Paul Wheeler and poet Will Stone. There will also be a tuning guide to Drake’s back catalog and a comprehensive guide to each one of his live performances.

A deluxe version comes with a 10-inch vinyl featuring unreleased recordings from Drake’s 1969 John Peel session and much more.

Pre-orders are available until Sept. 1. Check out a promo video:
