Trent Reznor and David Bowie solidified a friendship when Nine Inch Nails opened up for Bowie on his 1995 tour. At their first concert since Bowie's 2016 death, they honored his memory by performing "I Can't Give Anything Away" from Bowie's final album, Blackstar.

The performance is embedded above, and it took place at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, Calif. Setlist.fm notes that Reznor gave live debuts to two songs from last year's Not the Actual Events EP, "Branches / Bones" and "Burning Bright (Field on Fire)," another two from the upcoming Add Violence, "Less Than" and "The Lovers," as well as "Parasite" from his How to Destroy Angels side project. You can watch them, and other clips from the concert, below.

Nine Inch Nails aren't embarking on a full-scale tour, so this concert can possibly be seen as a warm-up for Sunday's headlining slot at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles. A week later they'll close out the Panorama Festival in New York, and have a pair of festivals -- in Chicago and Sacramento, Calif. -- scheduled for September and October.

Add Violence, the second part of a trilogy of EPs Reznor plans to put out, arrives tomorrow. Earlier this week, he gave us "This Isn't the Place," and "Less Than" accompanied last week's news of the record.
