On slow news days, we here at Diffuser are always grateful for Noel and Liam Gallagher for finding new and creative ways to attack each other in the press. The latest salvo in their decades-long war of words comes from Noel, who reacted to a recent Twitter rant against him by Liam.

Speaking to the Toronto Star, Noel was barely phased by Liam referring to him as a "potato" and a "f---in' prick," saying, "That’s so unlike him. I guess it was about him staying relevant. If you’re him, what else is there to tweet about? How his spring/summer collections are doing for his clothing firm? I’m not sure that warrants a tweet. Should he ever climb out of the 'where are they now' basket and grant you an interview, ask him. I’m sure you’ll get a typically f---ing surreal answer."

While the feuding between them has been on public display ever since Oasis arrived on the scene in 1994, the relationship was severed -- seemingly permanently -- at the height of their fame, when 1995's (What's the Story) Morning Glory turned them into one of the biggest bands on the planet. "We’ve not been on speaking terms since 1996," Noel added. "I tolerated him up until he stopped being able to sing. When singing becomes shouting — I switched off then. I was just amassing money."

Still, Oasis managed to make five more albums before calling it quits in 2009. Since then, there have often been rumors of a reunion floating about; however, they have always amounted to nothing. Last November, Noel said to not count on one until at least 2020. "I can only tell you I’ve already got the next five years planned out,” he said. “So it’s not going to happen in the next five years. Who knows what circumstances might be thrown up in the future? But, certainly, it’s not even on the horizon.”
