Those who purchased M83‘s ambitious double album ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ will recognize the tune as ‘Outro,’ the final song on the collection.
The spot begins with a young woman in a fairy tale land biting into an apple and collapsing. M83 frontman Anthony Gonzalez sings, “Now and forever, I’m your king,” as a young man kisses the body of the woman.
The climax of a stirring wall of guitars and drums coincides with the appearance of the teaser text, “A curse lifted. A hero born. This September two worlds will collide.” The spot ends with the rush of a large purple dust storm as a character says, “Magic is coming.”
M83 have been featured in numerous commercials and trailers in recent months. The French band’s music has appeared in an Expedia commercial and the trailer for the ‘Rust and Bone‘ film, among others. ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ hit No. 15 on the U.S. album charts.
