If you've seen Panda Bear's music videos or stopped by his website, you'll know that he likes to experiment with visuals. It should come as no surprise, then, that he did the same for the video for "Tropic of Cancer."

The visual -- above -- shows someone petting a dog followed by a parade of costumed people who look like they are big, multi-colored bears. Although it seems unsure why this is happening, you soon find out that the costumes aren't for show but for protection.

Panda Bear, also known as Noah Lennox, enlisted fellow Animal Collective member Dave Portner to direct the video, who was more than pleased to not only work with his longtime friend and bandmate but also get the chance to create a video of this kind.

Portner said in a statement:

It's always been in the spirit of Animal Collective to want to collaborate in many artistic ways with each other. Having been a fan of Noah's music since we were teenagers, it's sweet to finally be able to collaborate with him on something other than just making sounds and songs. I also am thankful to get my first shot at making something a little more long running in the visual/video world. This is one of my favorite songs on the record, hence my being involved with it. I'm grateful and excited to have worked on every moment of it and to have worked with all the sweet people who helped me put it together.

"Tropic of Cancer" is a single off Lennox's latest LP, Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper, out now via Domino Records. Lennox is also heading out on tour beginning this Friday (April 10) in Las Vegas.
