Passion Pit have finally revealed that their third album, Kindred, will arrive April 21 via Columbia Records. With the announcement, the Cambridge, Mass.-based synth-pop outfit shared the LP’s lead single and track, “Lifted (1985).” Take a listen to the exuberant song – which finds frontman Michael Angelakos exclaiming, “1985 was a good year” – in the video above. Then, take a look at the album artwork below:

Kindred will follow Passion Pit’s 2012 full-length, Gossamer, and will be made available for pre-order tomorrow, Feb. 17. At that time, you’ll also be able to download “Lifted,” as well as the LP’s third track, “Where the Sky Hangs.”

At the end of December, Passion Pit hinted at the new album in a Facebook post that included a photo of the upcoming album’s track list, largely blacked out. In addition to “Lifted” and “Where the Sky Hangs,” we now know Kindred will feature eight more songs, and judging by that previously posted photo, it appears like “Looks Like Rain” and “Five Foot Ten (I)” made the final cut.
