Passion Pit Perform ‘Take a Walk’ at 2012 Webby Awards
They may not have acquired the cachet of, say, the Grammys or the Oscars, but the Webby Awards have become quite the event over the last 16 years — and this year’s ceremony, featuring host Patton Oswalt and some of the shortest acceptance speeches in the history of awards shows — was no exception. The ceremony (held May 21) even made room for a couple of noteworthy musical guests, including Passion Pit, who performed ‘Take a Walk.’
The band was on hand to promote its upcoming LP, ‘Gossamer,’ due July 24. ‘Take a Walk’ was released as a single on May 7 and has already cracked the Top 40 of Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart — the first fruits of what Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos has described as his obsession with “perfect songwriting craftsmanship.”
Passion Pit will be on tour throughout the summer, crossing the country on a series of dates that will include stops at a long list of music festivals, including Download, Meltdown, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Bunbury and Governors Ball.
