The Lou Reed tributes have been rolling in since news broke yesterday of the rock legend's death at the age of 71, and during their show last night in Baltimore, Pearl Jam offered up an appropriately stripped-down version of the Velvet Underground classic 'I'm Waiting for the Man.' (Watch it above.)

Appearing on the Velvets' 1967 debut, 'I'm Waiting for the Man' was an early indication Reed was going to be a different kind of rock 'n' roll singer and songwriter. While his peers were singing about peace and flowers and incense and peppermint, Lou was up on Lexington and 125th St. in Harlem, trying to cop drugs from his perpetually tardy dealer.
