Over the last eight months, Pixies have kept fans guessing, but one hallmark of their return to making and releasing new music has been a commitment to stirring visuals. The group kicked things off with 'Bag Boy,' notable for its violent young protagonist and inspired use of Fruit Loops, and now comes a similarly unsettling clip for 'Magdalena,' a song from their 'EP2' collection.

Directed by Judy Jacob, the clip stars Nando Messias, a self-professed "artist, choreographer and queer academic," as a combative cross-dresser or transsexual with a taste for gyros and knack for balancing eggs on spoons while walking in heels. 'Magdalena' marks the second time Jacob has worked with Pixies, as Black Francis and the gang enlisted her back in 2009, when they needed onstage visuals for their 'Dolittle' world tour.

Speaking of touring, Pixies will spend the foreseeable future bringing their dynamic surf-damaged space rock to fans all over the globe, and after wrapping their North American tour, they jet to South America for a series of festival dates. Click here for the full itinerary.
