Last year, Atlanta-based electro-rock maestro Dan Dixon, aka PLS PLS, released a video for the tune 'Cocaine,' and like its namesake drug, the clip is quite addictive. The NSFW 'Miami Vice' parody features guns, speedboats, naked ladies and white blazers, and the music ain't bad either. 'Cocaine' appears on the aptly titled 'EP EP' EP, and today (Oct. 22), PLS PLS return with their full-length debut. Its name, of course, is 'LP LP,' and to mark the disc's arrival, Dixon made us a list of his favorite drug songs.

    'White Light / White Heat'

    The Velvet Underground

Of all the VU's odes to H, this one is the bounciest.

    'Cocaine'

    Abner Jay

My favorite version of this often covered song. And the intro is amazing.

    'Tomorrow Never Knows'

    The Beatles

Musically, the precursor to shoegaze. Released 25 years before 'Loveless.'

    'Gold Dust Woman'

    Fleetwood Mac

I'm not sure how much of this was written about drugs, but Stevie was snorting half of Peru during the making of this album, and that's good enough for me to put it on my list.

    'Cocaine Blues'

    Johnny Cash

He got high and shot his woman down. Cocaine's a hell of a drug.

  • 5

    'Come Together'

    Spiritualized

Now here's a fella that really enjoys his drugs. No apologies. Two-chord maximum.

  • 4

    'The Spider Bite Song'

    The Flaming Lips

The sweetest lil' song a bout smack I've ever heard.

  • 3

    'Never Let Me Down Again'

    Depeche Mode

For Chrissake, get out of the car, Dave.

  • 2

    'King Heroin'

    James Brown

An epic, three-part warning against the dangers of Boy. Brought to you by coke.

    'White Lines'

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five

Another warning against drugs that makes them sound really fun.
