Potty Mouth Play Dress-Up In ‘Black and Studs’ Video

The all-lady punk outfit Potty Mouth have premiered a video for ‘Black and Studs,’ the latest single from their debut, ‘Hell Bent.’ In both the song and the new Faye Orlove-directed clip, the girls of Potty Mouth — Phoebe Harris, Ally Einbinder, Victoria Mandanas and Abby Weems — explore issues of originality and rebellion.

As each of the girls chooses what to wear, animation highlights what’s in their stereos and on their bookshelves, giving recognition to these and other other cultural influencers. Meanwhile, in her half-mumbled lyrics, Weems wonders aloud just what happened to make them wear the clothes mentioned in the title.

The Northampton, Mass., group has a string of tour dates booked for this spring, including an appearance at the Vivian Girls' farewell show in Brooklyn on March 2.
