From the very beginning, R.E.M. and MTV's paths were intertwined. In July '81, R.E.M. released their first single, and just a few weeks later, MTV premiered its first music video.

The rest, as they say, is history.

MTV is a completely different beast than it was three decades ago and, unfortunately, R.E.M. are no more. Fortunately for fans of both, though, their journeys have been captured in a comprehensive documentary, aptly titled R.E.M. by MTV. When we saw the film back in November, we called it "one of the best music docs we’ve seen in recent memory."

With R.E.M. by MTV receiving a standalone Blu-ray and DVD release this June (it's also available as part of the massive six-DVD set, REMTV, that hit store shelves in 2014), we're excited to partner with R.E.M. and Rhino to give fans a shot at scoring the doc for free -- along with some extra goodies.

In addition to R.E.M. by MTV, one lucky fan will get R.E.M. Unplugged 1991 and R.E.M. Unplugged 2001, two amazing vinyl experiences that beautifully capture both of the band's performances on Unplugged; R.E.M. hold the distinction of being the only band to headline the MTV show twice.

On top of the documentary and vinyl, we'll throw in a movie poster for R.E.M. by MTV, too. And, we're making it as easy as possible to enter: All you have to do is retweet the below message and follow @DiffuserFM on Twitter ... that's it!

We'll pick a winner at 5PM ET on Thursday May 28, so make sure to toss your hat in the ring! (Read Diffuser's contest rules here.)

If you're not feeling lucky, you can pick up your copy of R.E.M. by MTV here, the 1991 double-LP here, and the 2001 double-LP here.
