Phoenix capped their performance at Coachella last night by bringing out R&B star R. Kelly, who sang his excellent 2003 hit 'Ignition (Remix)' with the French band. You can see the video of their onstage collaboration below.

Rumors swirled throughout the festival that another French group would be joining Phoenix onstage at Coachella. But Daft Punk, who unveiled a video trailer for their new album the day before at the fest, didn't show up. Instead, Kelly joined the group just as they were breaking into their song '1901' during the encore.

While the band played their hit song from their breakthrough album 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix,' Kelly sang his popular single on top of it. It's not as seamless as you'd hope, and two great songs don't make an even greater one here, but it's still kinda cool.

Phoenix's new album, 'Bankrupt!,' comes out on April 23. It's the band's fifth LP and first since 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' made them stars back in 2009. The band played several new songs during their Coachella set.

One of the new songs they played was 'Chloroform,' which Kelly stuck around for. He slipped in part of his 'I'm a Flirt' song before the whole gang brought it all back around to 'Ignition (Remix).' Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce ...
