On Friday (March 27), Def Jam rapper Lil Durk’s Manager Uchenna Agina, a.k.a. OTF Chino, was shot and killed in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune reports that a 24-year-old man “was sitting in a car in the 8400 block of South Stony Island Avenue when a gunman approached on foot and fired shots into the vehicle, hitting the man repeatedly including once in his head.” He was outside of a the Stony Sub restaurant near Avalon Park around 1:50AM.

A friend rushed Chino to Advocate Trinity Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. As of yet, no one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing. A Def Jam spokesperson told Billboard, "We are deeply saddened by the news of this tragedy. The Def Jam family shares our most heartfelt sympathy, condolences and prayers with the family and loved ones of Uchenna Agina."

Prior to the incident, Agina tweeted a Lil Durk remix of Chief Keef's "Faneto," a song that speaks to gang violence:

Lil Durk attended a meeting with the Chicago Bulls' Joakim Noah to discuss getting involved with his "Rock the Drop" anti-violence campaign just a few hours before the murder. “It’s very sad," Noah said. “What’s going on in this city is very real. I signed up for this, and I’m just doing everything I can to do something positive. We need to keep up the good fight. Everything I’m doing with my foundation comes from my heart, and it’s important that we don’t turn our backs on anybody."

Lil Durk will release his new album, Remember My Name, in May.
