Singers on reality TV shows like ‘American Idol’ and ‘X Factor’ and their foreign counterparts aren’t often drawn to alternative or indie rock, so when they do pick a song from the genre, it’s usually notable — even if the performance isn’t worth remembering. And often times, the performances aren’t worth remembering, either because it’s hard to take a song that’s unknown to most of the mainstream viewing audience and present in a way that will make it stick out, or just because the person singing it has a terrible voice.

This week, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Loudwire, Ultimate Classic Rock, PopCrush and Taste of Country to present a collection of some of the all-time biggest reality singing show fails. Some fall into the category of not worth remembering, and some are so bad that they are hard to forget. But either way, the following reality TV fails are definitely worth watching — if only just this once.
