Chicago Pizzeria Offering Red Hot Chili Peppers-Themed Pie for Lollapalooza

What's hotter than the Red Hot Chili Peppers? How about the Red Hot Chili Pie, a new RHCP-themed pizza now being offered by Chicago's Pie-Eyed Pizzeria at its three restaurants in conjunction with the 2012 edition of the annual Lollapalooza festival, which is taking place this weekend in the Windy City. The Chili Peppers, of course, are one of Lollapalooza's headliners, a fact that has inspired this one-of-a-kind pie.

The Chili Pie seems ready to scorch your very soul with red-hot mix of roasted red peppers, red onions, crushed red peppers, hot cherry peppers and sun dried tomatoes. "We are serving up some unbelievable Lollapalooza pizzas starting this week in ode to one of our favorite times of the year," reads a Facebook post from the pizzeria about its latest offering (complete with a picture of the pie).

Also new to the Pie-Eyed Pizzeria menu is the Black Sabbath Pizza, another new concoction in honor of a Lollapalooza headliner. The Sabbath pie -- which celebrates of the heavy metal legends, obviously -- includes an earthy mix of earthy of black garlic pesto, black olives, applewood smoked bacon, mushrooms and arugula. Lollapalooza 2012 kicks off Friday afternoon and runs through Sunday night, with the Black Keys, Jack White and others joining the Chili Peppers and Sabbath as headliners.
