The Red Hot Chili Peppers have spent the better part of 2012 rocking arenas and stadiums as they continue to tour behind last year's 'I'm With You' album, but they'll close out the year in a much more intimate setting. As MTV.com reports, the band has lined up a New Year's Eve gig at the Chelsea Ballroom at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Just over 4,000 tickets will be available for the Dec. 31 gig, and tickets go on sale Friday (Sept. 7), with a pre-sale for fan club members available on Wednesday (Sept. 5). Tickets are $150 plus taxes and additional fees and will be available online here. Fans who don't manage to snag tickets to the show but find themselves in Vegas on New Year's Eve can still watch the entire concert on the 65-foot outdoor digital marquee of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel, which also is home to the Chelsea.

The Chili Peppers, meanwhile, will continue to tour in support of 'I'm With You' into 2013. They have a handful of gigs in New Zealand and Australia lined up for January, followed by two shows in South Africa -- the band's first-ever in that country -- in February.
