At the end of last year, shoegaze greats Ride announced they would reunite and tour in the summer of this year. Now we're only a month away from the band's first date in Glasgow on May 22 (following a couple of great gigs at Coachella), and ahead of that concert, the British outfit visited KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic earlier this month to perform a handful of songs from their catalog.

The band began their first set with “Leave Them All Behind” from 1992’s Going Blank Again, plus “Taste” and “Dreams Burn Down” from their 1990 debut, Nowhere. Later, the band opens up their second set with Nowhere’s “Vapour Trail” mid-way through the clip. Watch the entire 45-minute video above.

When asked about the band's motivation to reunite, singer-guitarist Mark Gardener said, "You’d have to live in a hole in the ground not to be aware of the swell of social media. That voice seemed to get louder and louder, with people asking all the time: ‘Ride, play again. Ride, play again.’ It was kind of that internal question for me and I think for all of us.”

While the band plans to play music from their back catalog on their upcoming reunion jaunt, guitarist Andy Bell -- a former member of Beady Eye with Liam Gallagher before they disbanded back in October -- said new music is a “possibility.”

Ride originally broke up back in 1996 after putting out four albums, briefly reuniting for a one-off performance in 2001.
