El-P Says ‘Run the Jewels 3’ Is ‘Halfway Done,’ Teases New Music
Run the Jewels have been teasing new material from their highly anticipated follow-up to their 2014 breakthrough sophomore album since last year. Now, El-P has added another preview to the mix, and he’s also given a status update on the upcoming full-length.
In a tweet, El-P revealed Run the Jewels 3 is “halfway done” and fans can likely expect it before the year’s out:
pleased to report #RTJ3 is halfway done, the goal of a 2016 release is achievable and a safer, more profitable global economy in our grasp.

Just days before breaking the latest RtJ3 news, El-P shared a brief excerpt of a new Killer Mike verse (listen below). That preview joins three others that have arrived since May 2015. Some of them have since been pulled, but you can listen to the remaining teasers right here and here.
The hip-hop duo’s seemingly never-ending tour behind Run the Jewels 2 has finally winded down, but they will still make appearances at this year’s Coachella and its brand-new sister festival Panorama in New York City.
