Run the Jewels’ Bizarre ‘Meowpurrdy’ Video Stars a Bunch of Demented Cats

Subscribe to on

Run the Jewels have unveiled a new music video for their cat-inspired Run the Jewels 2 remix project Meow the Jewels, and guess what? It features a ton of cats.

That was also the case for Killer Mike and El-P’s video for “All Meow Life,” but for “Meowpurrdy” (a riff on RTJ2’s opening cut “Jeopardy”), the Cyriak-helmed clip’s narrative appears to center on a battle between a demented cat underworld and some kind of heaven-bound kitten deity. Needless to say, things get pretty weird pretty fast (including cats eating and vomiting up other cats). Take a gander up above.

The hip-hop duo still have a couple of tour dates behind their sophomore effort on the horizon, but they’re also working on their follow-up Run the Jewels 3. El-P revealed the good news at the end of last year in an Instagram post highlighting an excerpt of new music. Take a listen below:

RTJ3 is just getting started.
