We’ve been talking about it every chance we get, and now, we finally have a real taste of what to expect from the new Run the Jewels remix project, Meow the Jewels; it’s real, and if you don’t believe us, just check out the video above.

After being funded by fans via Kickstarter (raising a whopping $65,783), this cat-themed project finds the rap duo’s sophomore effort (Run the Jewels 2) reinterpreted using “cat sounds for the music.” And now that the remixing has begun, the first full track has been shared: "Meowrly." The tune made its worldwide debut on Run the Jewels’ Beats 1 radio show Friday night (July 17) -- you can stream it right here, right now (thanks to Fader):

And if you want an idea of what the non-feline version of "Meowrly" sounds like, you'll have to take Run the Jewels 2's "Early" for a spin:

As far as we can tell, there is no official release date for Meow the Jewels just yet, but you can find out all there is to know at the project's official Kickstarter campaign.

In other RTJ news, El-P has confirmed that he's made an "incredible instrumental piece" for the upcoming Marvel superhero movie, Fantastic Four. Run the Jewels have a number of live gigs scheduled through November, many of which are festival appearances. You can stay current with everything happening in their world over at their official website.
