Ryan Adams and the Shining Perform ‘Kim’ as Web Exclusive for ‘The Tonight Show’
On Aug. 13, Ryan Adams was the musical guest on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.' He and his band, the Shining, tore through a flawless performance of his latest album's lead single, 'Gimme Something Good.' Then, a few days later, Fallon released a web exclusive video of Adams' intimate rendition of another new track, 'My Wrecking Ball.'
Today (Sept. 10), just a few weeks after Adams' initial appearance, Fallon pulls one more surprise from his sleeve: another full-band performance of another new tune, this time in the form of 'Kim.' Check it out in the video above.
In Diffuser's review of 'Ryan Adams,' we called 'Kim' a "beautifully slow rocker" that shines thanks to the singer-songwriter's lyrical utterances. Fortunately, the ethereality of the song is perfectly preserved in the live performance; in fact, thanks to the visual assist of Adams' stirring presence, 'Kim' is elevated to an even more delicate level.
Adams' latest studio effort is currently available wherever fine records are sold. Get details on the release here, and check out the artist's full tour schedule -- which includes a stop at the 'Late Show with David Letterman' tomorrow (Sept. 11) -- here.
