The great thing about festival season is that musicians from all sorts of backgrounds are brought together. But to rocker Ryan Adams, that may actually be the worst part: During Adams' set at Governors Ball last night (June 6), electronica superstar Deadmau5 was performing on a nearby stage, and Deadmau5's music was audible from Adams' stage. Adams apparently didn't care for the sound bleeding over and he jokingly called out the DJ.

“Try to make this song on your f---ing iPhone,” Adams reportedly said. “This song is not going to match the robot music over there… It’s like we’re living in a f---ing Terminator nightmare!” Adams then went on to perform "Oh My Sweet Carolina," which you can watch below.

Deadmau5 has been known to react passionately toward detractors of electronic music, having gotten into it with Arcade Fire about a year ago over a similar incident, but his response to Adams was more passive and subdued, but still with sarcastic bite:

While the story has been picked up by myriad outlets, Adams has taken to Twitter to clarify that there's actually no beef with Deadmau5 – just with festivals stacking stages so close together:
