Ryan Adams is building the anticipation for a new release. Tuesday evening, the singer went live on Facebook with a new photo for something called 'Live After Deaf.'

The message accompanying the photo revealed, "Live After Deaf. Friday. This will not be repressed." There's been talk for years about a box set, and there's plenty of speculation on the singer's Facebook page that 'Live After Deaf' may actually be a vinyl box set. However, Adams has been coy so far about releasing any other details concerning what the disc actually is.

The title is a nod to Adams' bout last decade with Meniere's Disease, an ailment that led him to retire from music for a couple of years to deal with his hearing issues. If the 'Live After' portion of the title is to be believed, then the collection may be a concert set of material from recent years.

Adams finally returned with the new album 'Ashes and Fire' last year and has toured in support of the effort. During the run, he opted for more acoustic versions of tracks, digging deep into his pre-solo days with Whiskeytown for material as well. He even showed off an acoustic cover of Danzig's 'Mother' at one stop.

At present there are no dates on his itinerary, which could mean that the touring in support of the disc has wound down, making the timing for a live collection from the run perfect.
