Ryan Adams is a seasoned veteran of the Late Show With David Letterman, so who better than him to help send off the soon-to-be-retired late-night host?

Last night (May 13), the singer-songwriter appeared on the classic stage for his 11th time to perform "Starting to Hurt" -- not only an old song, but as Letterman says in his introduction, the same song he performed back in the early '00s when he made his debut on the show. You can watch last night's performance above, as well as the original below.

After performing the three-minute track, Letterman was so blown away that he nearly demanded an encore, asking for just "a little more." Adams broke out with a repeat performance of the same song, but this time with help from Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.

Adams recently released his new 7-inch, I Do Not Feel Like Being Good -- the three-track EP and his latest album, Live At Carnegie Hall, are currently available here. He's now on tour, with scheduled appearances at Governors Ball, Glastonbury, and Sasquatch; you can stay up-to-date with Adams via the Pax-Am website.
