Sam Smith proves that he's more than just a balladier in his latest single, 'Like I Can.'

Going for a more upbeat, soulful melody, the 'I'm Not the Only One' crooner sings about how he's the only one who could really love the object of his affection. And although the accompanying music video (above) seems to tell a very different story, there are a couple of moments when you feel like your heart is about to swell like the dance and serenade moment in the alley. The flowers were a sweet touch.

After watching the video, it's clear that the love that Smith shows is his adoration for the Big Apple. With everyone dressed suavely in their tuxes -- similar to what we've seen the Rat Pack wear -- and the video being in black and white, the Grammy-nominated singer uses this as his love letter to the city that never sleeps.

Smith has had a great 2014 with the success of his debut album, 'In the Lonely Hour,' and selling out just about every venue he's booked. And it looks like that hasn't changed much as most of the dates (if not all) for his 2015 North American tour have already sold out.
