Samsaya Blends Genres in Vibrant New ‘Stereotype’ Video

Is this the new MIA? Not to stereotype anyone, but Samsaya, who was born in India and raised in Norway, reveals cross-cultural roots in her single ‘Stereotype.’ Samsaya mixes pop, dance, hip-hop, funk and soul with traditional Indian sonics, and the song's vibrant video (see above) was filmed in India and directed by Norwegian photographer and filmmaker Patrick Katzman.

‘Stereotype’ is the first single from Samsaya’s forthcoming album ‘Bombay Calling,’ due out next year via BMG. Samsaya, whose name means doubt in Hindi, will make her U.S live debut in early 2014. In the meantime, ‘Stereotype’ is available now on iTunes and Soundcloud.
